This weed produces hairy seeds, which attach
themselves to your clothing and get transported
around the garden. Simply hoe this weed
in early spring or winter.
Bramble
Young brambles can easily be pulled up with
root attached, but older brambles have deep
woody roots, which need to be dug out. Prostrate
stems can take root. Best to remove top
growth first before digging the roots out.
Japanese Knotweed
The Japanese knotweed is difficult to
eradicate as its roots are deep. This
weed can grow between 6 and 9ft in a
year. Any
weeds lifted should be burnt. It is
illegal to dump the roots.
